At OGR Stock Denton we have a comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy to ensure we do our best for the local and wider community, employees and the environment.
Our programme encourages members of staff to engage with other businesses, charities and community groups.
The strategy has helped foster closer working relationships between our members of staff and ensures that the firm continues to be a positive, active participant in local events.
We invest a considerable amount of time supporting various charitable causes, organising fundraising activities and offering third sector organisations advice on various legal matters. Over the last five years the partners have donated over £100,000 to various charities. We have also implemented a ‘matching programme’ through which employees are encouraged to make donations to a charity of their choice, with the firm matching all donations to the value of £100 in support of their efforts.
OGR Stock Denton Solicitors recently offered work placements to two people with learning difficulties as part of an initiative run by the charity Langdon UK. Following the success of the scheme, the firm would encourage other employers to get involved themselves.
Pro bono work
Several of our solicitors provide pro bono advice to various different organisations. For example, our employment team offers support to Jewish Women’s Aid, supporting women and children who have been the victims of domestic violence. Partners also provide ongoing backing to Seed – an organisation set up to provide adult and Jewish education across the UK.
Helping the environment
The firm is highly aware of the environmental impact of our activities and those of our suppliers. To this end we have introduced a number of initiatives to improve waste management and recycling and reduce our energy consumption/carbon footprint.
